Staff Machine Learning Engineer
To execute our vision, we need to grow our team of best-in-class machine learning engineers. We seek developers excited about staying at the forefront of deep learning technology, prototyping state-of-the-art neural net models, and launching these models into production. Our ideal candidate has experience creating and implementing a machine learning-powered project from the ground up and is capable of planning scalable, maintainable data pipelines.

Responsibilities:
- Apply ML models to production use cases: design and code neural networks, gather and refine data, train and tune models, and deploy at scale.
- Write and maintain scalable, performant code for cross-platform use.
- Contribute to product and core backend systems, suggesting and executing improvements.
- Develop novel ML algorithms for scalable applications.
- Conduct metric-driven experiments to enhance model performance.
- Provide mentorship to and help onboard ML engineers.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with other teams and contribute to strategic direction and roadmap planning.
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices for data maintenance and adhere to policies regarding information asset protection.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience building web applications and implementing highly available distributed systems/microservices.
- Proven experience delivering scalable backend APIs and writing code for distributed systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a bias towards action.
- Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, shell scripts) for data analysis.
- Subject matter expertise in at least one focus area of machine learning, such as computer vision or natural language processing.
- Proven ability to lead end-to-end development of new products.

Compensation:
The current expected base salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $300,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of the total compensation package, which may also include stock options.
