Staff Machine Learning Engineer: In order to execute our vision, we need to grow our team of best-in-class machine learning engineers. We seek developers excited about staying at the forefront of deep learning technology, prototyping state-of-the-art neural net models, and launching these models into production. Our ideal candidate has experience creating a working machine learning-powered project from the ground up, contributing innovative ideas and ingenious implementations, and is capable of planning out scalable, maintainable data pipelines.

Responsibilities:

• Apply ML models to production use cases, including design, coding, data gathering, training, tuning, and deployment at scale.
• Write and maintain scalable, performant code for shared platforms and contribute to product and core backend systems improvements.
• Develop novel, accurate, and performant ML algorithms for use at scale and conduct metric-driven research experiments to improve model performance.
• Provide mentorship, assist in onboarding ML engineers, and lead cross-functional collaboration with other teams.
• Maintain industry best practices for data handling, adhere to security policies, and report breaches as required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience building web applications and implementing highly-available distributed systems/microservices.
• Experience delivering scalable backend APIs and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in coding and training across distributed systems and making well-reasoned design tradeoffs.
• Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, shell scripts) for data analysis.
• Subject matter expertise in machine learning focus areas like computer vision or natural language processing.
• Ability to lead end-to-end development of new products.

Compensation and Benefits: The current expected base salary for this position ranges from $200,000 - $300,000, with actual compensation varying based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. In addition to base pay, employees may receive stock options and are eligible for various company-sponsored benefits, including health, vision, and dental insurance, a gym membership, and paid vacation in accordance with the Company's vacation policy. Hired applicants may also receive an equity grant in the form of an option to purchase stock in the future at a specified price.
