Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and operate technology platforms in data warehousing, big data, and analytics for efficient data processing and storage.
- Ensure responsible handling of data by guiding the development of a group-wide data catalog.
- Develop and optimize data models, schemas, and storage solutions for efficient data retrieval and analysis.
- Define and implement data governance architecture and standards with IT, data science, and business stakeholders; deliver on the next phase of our data lake based on data governance.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new data technologies and tools to enhance our data infrastructure.
- Develop and operate complex ETL pipelines to manage large datasets from diverse sources, adhering to IT data management best practices.
- Design and deliver data integration to support operational and project-based requirements, structuring processes for data management and governance initiatives.
- Enable the delivery of data services with data scientists and IT colleagues to fulfill client demands.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data systems, processes, and workflows for compliance with governance, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Informatics, Bioinformatics, or a comparable field (highly preferred).
- 5+ years of relevant IT experience in a dynamic environment.
- Advanced programming skills, preferably in SQL, Python, or PowerShell.
- Deep data analytics experience including data modeling and visualization.
- Extensive experience in managing data services in a Business Insights (BI) and Big Data environment, especially within Microsoft SQL, Azure, Hadoop, and Spark.
- Strong experience with agile software development and ETL routes; adept with databases (especially MS SQL).
- Ability to apply flexibility and creativity in digitalization projects using data services; skilled in problem analysis, design thinking, and prototyping.
- Organized with strong project management skills and a customer-oriented approach in stakeholder interaction.
- Strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure; excited to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across environments.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills; fluency in German is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft M365 suite of productivity software.
