Machine Learning Manager
In order to execute our vision, we're constantly growing our machine learning team. We are looking for an exceptional leader to help us with that growth, ensuring each engineer reaches their full potential. We value hard workers who have no qualms working with terabyte-scale datasets. Our ideal candidate has experience managing a team of machine learning engineers on large-scale ML projects, contributes innovative ideas, and mentors junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Interface closely with product management, engineering, devops, labeling, and sales teams to build a roadmap supporting the long-term vision.
- Lead and mentor a team of passionate machine learning engineers, helping them achieve their goals.
- Participate in product technical design and architecture, as well as the full development cycle: data collection, labeling, model development, experimentation, training, testing, and deployment in production.
- Drive delivery for product milestones, releasing models with new well-tested features while ensuring quality metrics are achieved.
- Implement and manage security protocols including training, code reviews, and best practices.
- Own and manage the risk and security of your business function in coordination with the Security Team. Maintain awareness of industry best practices for data handling relevant to your role.
- Adhere to policies and guidelines pertaining to information asset protection and report suspected security violations to the appropriate authority.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- 4+ years experience as a machine learning engineer, specifically with large deep learning models and real-world data.
- Knowledgeable in at least one machine learning focus area (computer vision, audio, or NLP).
- 2+ years of experience managing machine learning teams.
- Strong ability to understand and make trade-offs in feature design.
- Management skills to set roadmaps and goals for the team, delegate, mentor, and deliver results.
- Desire to interview and collaborate with recruiting teams, ensuring smooth onboarding for new team members.
- Experience collaborating with product managers and labeling teams for model improvements.

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary for this position ranges from $180,000 - $250,000, with actual compensation varying based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and location.
