Job Details

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems, collaborating with data scientists, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality, accessibility, and security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for working with data warehouse technologies like Snowflake, MySQL, and AWS DynamoDB. The work involves handling health data from different sources, including FHIR, HL7, CCDA, CSV, and Parquet files.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Lead data curation, data readiness, and MLOps towards a comprehensive data strategy and execution.
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Applied Scientists to understand data requirements and ensure data availability and quality.
  • Implement data governance and security best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval mechanisms to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to data architecture, processes, and workflows.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from Snowflake to continuously improve system performance.
  • Deploy data solutions to AWS cloud platform and integrate them with existing applications.
  • Work with Multi-Tier architecture using Data Vault modeling style.
  • Apply healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, and CCDA.
  • Utilize AWS technologies: S3, RDS, ECS, Fargate, Lambda, DynamoDB, Step Functions.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and AI.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in data engineering, including building and managing data pipelines.
  • Experience in supporting scalable cloud solutions in AWS.
  • Proficiency in programming languages: Python, SQL, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with AWS big data technologies (e.g., EMR, Redshift, Kinesis) and data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS database management systems (e.g., RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora).
  • Experience in generating sample data using statistical modeling techniques and integrating data solutions with applications in the AWS cloud platform.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is an added bonus, particularly in innovating to simplify clinical workflows.
