About The Job

8+ years of experience in advanced SQL techniques, including analytic functions.

5+ years of expertise in relational database performance structures and techniques, specifically indexing, materialized views, and partitioning.

3+ years working with Big Data technology and cloud, such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Microsoft Azure.

5+ years hands-on coding experience with any scripting language (Python).

Experience in technical problem solving and debugging skills, and designing and implementing automated tests, including unit tests and integration tests.

Experience in Healthcare Payor preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Mentor team members in areas of expertise and ETL processes, participate in code reviews, and develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and quality.
- Prepare ETL packages for deployment to development, test, and production environments following all Release Management policies.
- Design and implement business intelligence and ETL solutions using programming, performance tuning, and data modeling.
- Create optimized databases, implement schema changes, and maintain data architecture standards.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Required Work Experience: 4 years in computer programming, query design, and databases; 6 years for senior level.
- Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Required Licenses/Certifications: N/A.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Work Experience: 4+ years of experience in building complex Data Integration solutions and Database administration with SQL Server.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred; Master’s Degree for Senior level.
- Certifications: MS SQL Certification or other relevant certifications.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

- Data Engineer: Perform job functions under general supervision; involve in the architecture, design, construction, testing, tuning, and support of Data Integration solutions.
- Contribute to the team’s knowledge base, promote SQL Server best practices, and collaborate with other teams to define solutions.
- Support Enterprise database clustering, develop processing requirements, establish new procedures, and design ETL solutions utilizing SSIS.
- Implement disaster-recovery procedures and participate in the review of code/system design for standards and functionality.

Position Requirements

- Full-time schedule, defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus additional hours as necessary.
- Participation in on-call rotation.

Preferred Competencies

- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and advanced proficiency in SQL queries, database management, and programming.
- Advanced knowledge of data mapping techniques and decision support systems.
