We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer who plays a crucial role in designing and implementing machine learning models, developing advanced AI applications, and ensuring they perform as required. This professional will blend knowledge in data science and software engineering to create AI models that serve business needs while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role will support all AI engineering activities across the enterprise, including Clinical Analytics, Utilization Management, Clinical Automation, Claims and Encounters Processing, and driving our strategic Model of Care.

Supervision Exercised: No direct reports.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design, develop, and implement AI solutions to address various customer needs and enhance business value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists, software engineers, product managers) to integrate AI solutions into products.
  • Develop efficient AI systems, enhancing predictive and generative automation capabilities.
  • Build reusable AI infrastructure and integrate with cloud platforms.
  • Deliver successful AI projects utilizing natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, and computer vision techniques.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, including workflow diagrams and technical specifications.
  • Build machine learning models and understand algorithms such as regression, classification, clustering, and recommendation systems.
  • Deploy models as APIs or services using cloud services (e.g., Azure ML) or custom REST endpoints.
  • Work closely with DevOps engineers and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to integrate AI solutions into existing workflows, ensuring seamless deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of AI-driven systems.

Working Conditions:

  • Remote position with the ability to commute to Boston, MA as needed.

What We're Looking For:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Desired Education:

  • Master's in Computer Science.
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamental certification.
  • Azure AI Engineer Associate certification.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience with AI/ML, including proficiency in Python, R, and experience with libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
  • Experience integrating cloud-based AI Services (e.g., Azure AI Services) into applications.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning principles, including supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, and model evaluation.
  • Implementation of responsible AI practices, including model explainability and interpretability.
  • Experience with AIOps and various AI capabilities (cognitive, NLP, computer vision, speech recognition, sentiment analysis, document intelligence).

Desired Experience:

  • Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (specifically Azure).
  • Experience integrating near-real-time data into event-driven AI workflows.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in AI/ML, including Python, R, or C#, .Net.
  • Knowledge on integrating cloud-based AI Services (such as Azure AI Services) into applications, including secure communications.
  • Understanding of machine learning principles and deep learning concepts.
  • Experience implementing responsible AI practices.

Required Language: English

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Language:

  • Knowledge of AIOps, specifically with GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency and experience with Azure AI Services.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., UiPath Certified RPA Developer) are a plus.
