We are looking for a Senior/Staff Data Scientist to help us process large amounts of raw data into strategic insights for our Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams. In this role, you will lead the evaluation, design, and implementation of machine learning models and statistical analyses to support key business objectives. As a Senior/Staff Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making at Platform Science and expanding the company’s data science capabilities.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluation of ML opportunities and summarize findings and recommendations to address business use cases and inform data science strategy.
- Collaborate with Data Science team members and Product leaders to define the data science strategy and roadmap for Platform Science.
- Utilize advanced data mining and machine learning techniques (e.g., natural language processing, deep learning, neural networks) to solve complex business problems.
- Leverage our modern data stack (dbt, Snowflake) to filter, clean, and transform data from a variety of sources.
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to help address their questions and goals with analytics and data science solutions.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Contribute to the development of the company's data science capabilities, implementing best practices and processes.
- Mentor and provide guidance to mid-level data scientists to help them grow and develop their skills.
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a data role, with at least 4 in a data science role.
- 2+ years of experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Domo).
- Experience in mentorship or leadership roles, providing guidance to mid-level data scientists.
- Deep understanding of machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow) and algorithms.
- Advanced knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages (Python, numpy, pandas, R).
- Experience with experimental design and determining statistical significance of analyses.
- Experience with AWS data services (e.g., Sage Maker, S3, EC2, Lambda).
- Expert SQL skills, including complex queries with multiple tables, sub-queries, and analytical functions.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated expertise in establishing machine learning pipelines from scratch.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or equivalent experience.

- Experience with Data Build Tool (dbt) and embedded analytics solutions.

This is an exempt role. The estimated base salary for this position ranges from $138,203 to $255,484, with packages based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set and experience. This role may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
