About The Role

The AI & ML Applications team empowers other Zepz teams to leverage data to solve analytical problems. We are a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers working together from ideation to production, owning end-to-end data engineering pipelines and ML models that span multiple applications (fraud detection, time series prediction of financial data, churn prediction, and more).

What You Will Do

• Help shape what we build with our current tech stack including Airflow, Fivetran, DBT, Databricks, and DynamoDB, primarily in Python.
• Own delivery: You’ll manage bugs, scalability, uptime, and other non-functional requirements beyond just a pull request.
• Grow together: Review others’ work and seek feedback on yours to build a better codebase while mentoring juniors.
• Collaborate: Work closely with Product Owners, Data Scientists, Analysts, and other Engineers to design and refine our work, contributing to many architectural decisions.

What You Bring To The Table

• Proven software engineering skills, with a focus on writing well-designed, robust, maintainable code.
• Extensive industrial experience designing and productionizing ML systems, along with a solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and translating business requirements into ML solutions.
• Expertise in statistical experiment design and performance analysis of machine learning models.
• Strong experience with Python, SQL, and machine learning frameworks, along with preferred data engineering experience (Databricks and Airflow).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive problem-solver with a bias for action, ensuring swift ticket movement and buy-in for solutions.
• Opinionated contributor to discussions, fostering a shared understanding within the team and organization.
