We are working on a Data Engineer role for one of our direct clients. This is a long-term contract position with a large, stable client. Data Engineer

Minimum Experience Required: 10 Years

Rate: $60/hr on W2 or $68/hr C2C

Contract: Long term

Remote: Yes

Overview: The Data Engineer will be responsible for creating reports and analytics data on digital test administration. This role involves generating reports to assess the health of the administration and provide statistics to leadership. The team is responsible for delivering live reports to monitor exam status and providing comprehensive post-admin reports for detailed analysis.

Profile: The Data Engineer will work closely with Architects and leads in the Interflow team and key business stakeholders, including program staff. The role requires strong experience in writing complex SQL queries to extract data for reports and handling large sets of data.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand, proof test, and tweak complex queries for intended use.
  • Critical analysis to extract and identify inconsistencies in data.
  • Hands-on experience with Python.
  • Lead the implementation of market-popular AI tools for data analysis and trend reporting.
  • Access, trace, analyze, and remediate data issues using SQL and AWS tools such as Athena and Redshift.
  • Automate data extraction and visualize results using tools like Tableau.
  • Develop and review requirements, data mappings, and database specifications documentation.
  • Design and manage information systems, conduct analysis, and generate operational reports.
  • Strong documentation of data artifacts and report details.
  • Support Architects, Leads, and product owners in the information analysis and requirements gathering process.
  • Handle ad-hoc data requests as part of the DevOps team.
  • Develop testing strategies and identify test scenarios based on business requirements.
  • Support functional, regression, and end-to-end testing with a focus on data flow.
  • Self-starter with the ability to set priorities and work independently.
  • Develop data-driven reporting solutions from concept to deployment.
  • Focus on user-friendly reporting assets including interfaces and outputs.
  • Cultivate knowledge of client products, data systems, and information assets.
  • Work with Tableau/Tableau Server, SQL, and relational/columnar databases.
  • Exhibit good communication and decision-making skills.

About You:

  • BA/BS required (major in an analytical field desired).
  • 5 to 10+ years of work-related experience.
  • Experience in the development of reporting applications for the web in a professional environment.
  • Passion for new technology and adapting the latest tools in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ethos of continuous improvement and interest in learning new things.
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a cross-functional environment.
  • Familiarity with agile methodology and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to setting priorities and achieving goals.
