Senior Data Engineer (Remote)

Position Overview: Blue Orange is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our talented multi-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for all things data engineering, modern data infrastructure practices, and patterns. They should be well-versed in SQL and modern data technologies, understand how to drive the extraction of business requirements for data transformations, assess data quality, and possess great communication skills. This candidate will work directly with our clients to help design, build, scale, and maintain production data validation systems and platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Define data source, accuracy, and validation requirements in collaboration with the team and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain data ingestion processes, data models, orchestrations, transformations, and validation tests.
• Extract and prepare data for analytics and testing from source data systems.
• Evolve the data architecture by working with technical and business teams.
• Operate within an Agile environment to consistently deliver value to clients.
• Perform additional requests as directed by your manager.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in a data engineering role, including ETL, data warehousing, data lakes, lakehouses, pipelines, modeling, and data quality validation.
• Expertise in data ingestion, modeling, and conformance/compliance validation.
• Expert-level skills in SQL, statistical analysis, and data validation.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong professional demeanor and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
• BA or BS degree in a technical or quantitative field (e.g., computer science, statistics).
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Experience in the Financial Services industry, particularly in corporate loan processing, risk, and reporting, is a plus.
• Familiarity with R, Python, Scala, SPSS, Teradata, SAS, PowerBI, Tableau, and Looker is advantageous.

Salary: $138,600 - $153,000 per year ($11,550 - $12,750 per month) - USD. Blue Orange Digital is an equal-opportunity employer. Background checks may be required for certain positions/projects.
