Overview

Ignite Retail Technology seeks an L3 Senior Software Engineer to join our mission crew. As a Senior Software Engineer (L3), you'll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our cloud-based data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain cloud-based data warehouse and lake infrastructure using AWS
  • Develop ETL processes for integrating retail datasets into a unified data model
  • Create QuickSight dashboards for retailer insights and enable self-serve analytics
  • Support ad-hoc reporting needs and implement real-time monitoring and alerting based on operational data
  • Manage multiple projects while collaborating across teams to deliver results
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience with expert-level Python skills
  • Comprehensive expertise in AWS Big Data tools, including S3, Redshift, QuickSight, Glue, EMR/Spark, Kinesis, and Lambda
  • Proficiency with non-relational databases and data stores, as well as big data file formats such as Parquet, Avro, and ORC
  • Understanding of distributed systems for data storage and computing; proven ability to extract value from large datasets
  • Experience in technical leadership and mentoring, along with expertise in data security best practices (e.g., encryption, governance)
  • Proficiency in comprehensive software testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end)
