We are dedicated to engineering solutions on open, government-owned platforms to ensure the right capabilities are employed on the battlefield. We are looking for a versatile Data Engineer to join our team as we continue to expand upon existing and new applications. In this role, you will work on a team to design and develop data engineering solutions that address the unique and challenging problems faced by our customers. Your involvement will span every aspect of the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design/architecture, development, testing, and delivery.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and build data pipelines on cloud and hybrid infrastructure for analytical needs.
- Create integrations for disparate sensors by quickly implementing ingest mechanisms for binary data formats with known structures.
- Design and construct dimensional data models to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and quality of data.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to address data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Create custom software components (e.g., specialized UDFs) and analytics applications.
Necessary Skills and Experience:
- Advanced degree in a STEM field or 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or Java programming languages.
- Experience with data integration technologies such as Fivetran, Singer, dbt labs, and Hightouch.
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Clickhouse, Spark, etc.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) using serverless functions such as AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions.
- Knowledge of message brokers and queues such as Mosquitto, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
- Experience with distributed query engines like Trino (formerly Hive), Dremio, AWS Athena, etc.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance post-start date; U.S. Citizenship is required due to the eligibility criteria for security clearance.
- Willingness to travel.
Beneficial Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms (e.g., using TensorFlow or PyTorch for predictive analytics).
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, D3.js, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently without direct supervision.
