About the role
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help with our growth in the cyber risk modeling and quantification space. The effort includes working to develop and productionize quant models and continue innovating our data and analytics-driven functionality. This role requires cross-functional collaboration with data science, product, engineering, and design to deliver rich solutions for our customers. We operate under a hybrid model, with approximately 50% of the time expected in the office, with specifics to be determined in conjunction with your manager.

What you'll do
- Collaborate with Data Science, Engineering, and Product to build out Axio’s leading data products.
- Analyze and organize raw data through automated pipelines for advanced analytics.
- Lead the implementation and deployment of data science models with a focus on performance.
- Develop data quality processes and frameworks to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Architect Axio’s next-generation data infrastructure to support growing data-focused products.

Qualifications
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Technical leadership to build and architect Axio’s data solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team including data scientists, engineers, and product managers.
- Adaptability in a growing and evolving company.
- Dedication and ownership with a solution-oriented mentality.

Required technical skills
- Strong proficiency in Python, with a minimum of 5 recent years of experience.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools and processes, data warehousing solutions, and big data technologies.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with delivering solutions on cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, etc.).

Important technical skills
- Self-motivated problem solver.
- Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with the React framework.
- Experience with data governance, security, and compliance.

Compensation & Benefits
The New York base salary for this full-time position is between $131k - $171k. Your exact starting salary is determined by various factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
