About the Job
As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll play an integral role in building CrowdStreet’s new data platform from zero to one. You’ll have the opportunity to influence the architecture of our new data platform and be responsible for the full lifecycle of software development, including design, implementation, testing, documentation, operation, and support. In this role, you’ll interact directly with teams across CrowdStreet’s business to translate ambiguous data needs into actionable initiatives for the Data team.
Responsibilities
- Unlock business-critical data through ingestion into a centralized data platform
- Reveal key insights through proper data modeling and analysis in the data warehouse
- Own and maintain data pipelines that support the essential day-to-day operations of CrowdStreet’s business
- Collaborate with Application Engineering, Product Management, and other teams to identify and deliver high-impact enhancements
- Monitor and manage the efficiency of the data platform to balance performance, stability, and cost
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working hands-on in Microsoft/Azure data stack, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Power BI
- Experience working in a dynamic startup environment
- Ability to decompose and define large ambiguous tasks
- Experience designing and implementing data platforms using industry best practices
- Experience interacting directly with business stakeholders to identify requirements and communicate progress
- Proven collaboration as part of a team with fellow Data Engineers and Product Managers while utilizing agile practices like code reviews, pair programming, and demos
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Data Factory and building ETL pipelines
- Experience operating, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to Azure Synapse Analytics
- Experience building and maintaining data warehouses
- Proficiency in writing Python (or similar) code in Synapse or Databricks Notebooks
- Experience creating data models from Data Warehouse and authoring reports in Power BI
