KBRA Holdings, LLC is seeking an engaged and proactive Senior Data Engineer to work with our RMBS (Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities) team. We want someone who loves solving difficult problems, digs deeply to understand the domain in which they’re working, and excels at creating high-quality software in a collaborative environment.

Our engineering team is a highly collaborative unit responsible for creating web applications and REST APIs backing our financial products. We prioritize creating a safe and successful workplace and focus on delivering concrete value for our customers. In RMBS, we deal with large data sets and collaborate closely with the Quantitative Modelling team to run models used for the securitization of loans.

About The Job The team produces analysis on many different categories of RMBS deals and handles large volumes of data, necessitating a responsive application that can run loads at scale. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring calculation speed, latency, and scalability.
  • Absorbing the right Cloud-based services and products, conducting Proof-Of-Concepts (POCs), and integrating Cloud services to our platform.
  • Collaborating with technical and non-technical counterparts, while participating in all aspects of design, delivery, and support of our systems.

Must Have Skills Candidates should possess:

  • Strong command of the Python programming language (senior level).
  • Experience in designing and implementing features in a distributed, event-based architecture.
  • Ability to lead REST API design and development by coordinating with clients within and across teams.
  • Experience in designing NoSQL data models, particularly for MongoDB.
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing read queries.
  • Experience navigating monitoring/logging tools to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Adherence to test-driven development to validate accuracy and functionality.
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders to elicit functional requirements and feedback, demonstrating an understanding of web application architecture.

Salary Range The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $180,000, determined by experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
