Senior Cloud Infrastructure Data Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Data Engineer for a 100% remote position with a duration of 6+ months. This role requires substantial expertise in cloud infrastructure and data development.

MUST HAVES:

• 6+ years of platform data development experience with RDS (PostgreSQL), Debezium, Redis, Kafka, Flink, and Databricks.
• Extensive experience with AWS data services, including RDS Aurora, ElastiCache, Managed OpenSearch, S3, and MSK.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS.
• Proficient with Terraform and at least one programming language such as Python, Golang, or Ruby.
• Experience in configuring and securing AWS clusters.
• Experience in setting up Databricks.

Job Description:

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will join my client's Runtime Platform Group, focusing on building and managing FedRAMP-authorized cloud infrastructure for U.S. Federal Government projects. You will contribute to designing, deploying, and configuring cloud-native services and infrastructure that comply with FedRAMP Moderate level controls, directly supporting strategic initiatives for 2024 and 2025.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to design, deploy, and document cloud infrastructure resources for the SaaS platform in AWS GovCloud.
• Ensure compliance with FedRAMP Moderate level controls throughout the deployment process.
• Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform) to automate the deployment and configuration of cloud databases, data lakes, and streaming systems.
• Deploy and manage technologies such as Debezium, Apache Flink, and Kafka in a secure, highly available environment.
• Engineer robust and resilient cloud systems supporting 24/7 operations with 99.95% availability.
• Build and test disaster recovery systems to ensure infrastructure and data resiliency.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure in moderate-to-large-scale environments (greater than 1000 hosts, petabytes of data).
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS data services including RDS Aurora, ElastiCache, Managed OpenSearch, S3, and MSK.
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, and Terraform.
• Experience in deploying and configuring data streaming tools (e.g., Kafka, Flink) in highly secure environments.
• Familiarity with cloud observability, logging, and monitoring tools.
• Strong programming skills in at least one common language like Python, Golang, or Ruby.
• Experience in an Agile development environment.
