We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join Current, a leading U.S. fintech serving nearly 4 million members who have been overlooked by traditional banks. About The Role: This position within the data team is pivotal in supporting Current's growth and addressing the data analytics and science needs across various teams. Your expertise in building dimensional models in the data warehouse, data marts, and transformation pipelines will be instrumental. You'll partner with data analysts, data scientists, and engineers to support their modeling and reporting needs, while collaborating with the engineering team to develop efficient data infrastructure and tooling.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the data warehousing and data modeling strategy and roadmap.
  • Build core data models and data marts in the Data Warehouse, including:
    • Designing and constructing data transformation pipelines, dimensional models, data marts, and data aggregation layers using dbt, Airflow, and BigQuery.
    • Implementing scalable and user-friendly data models housing complex datasets.
  • Support Looker as the primary reporting and analytics tool by developing core data models for sophisticated analysis.
  • Collaborate with various teams such as Banking, Product, Marketing, Finance, Credit, and Risk to fulfill analytics and modeling needs.
  • Work alongside data engineers to create data integrations and robust infrastructure.
  • Establish frameworks and processes for data reconciliation and quality management.
  • Build trust and confidence in the data produced and transformed by your team.

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience as a data engineer or analytics engineer.
  • Proficient in implementing dimensional models and summarized data marts in a data warehouse; completed at least one full Data Warehouse development cycle.
  • Fluent in building data transformation pipelines and dimensional models using ETL or transformation tools (Preferred: dbt).
  • Strong expertise in SQL and performance tuning.
  • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or GCP; programming experience in Python, Scala, or other languages.
  • Focus on data quality, integrity, and security.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience modeling data in dbt and Looker.
  • Experience in financial services companies and D2C domains.
  • Experience with one or more MPP databases (Preferred: BigQuery).

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary range: $170,000 - $220,000, determined based on experience, skill level, and qualifications.
