Poggio is reimagining the day-to-day of sales workflow and changing the way that sellers build relationships and earn trust with their customers. Leveraging cutting-edge AI, Poggio automates the enterprise sales workflow, enhancing pipeline generation, account planning, account research, meeting prep, deal reviews, territory planning, and QBRs. Our mission is to amplify the capabilities of salespeople, allowing them to dedicate more time to building relationships with their customers. We partner with the best enterprise sales teams and are supported by world-class investors from Accel and Spark Capital. Our team is remote-first, with a preference for SF / NYC but flexible on location, emphasizing finding the perfect fit.

AI Engineering: Large language models enable many of Poggio's core product features, hence AI engineering is tightly coupled with ongoing product initiatives. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious software engineer to help us extend and scale the foundations of our AI system in order to power new user capabilities and provide the best possible AI user experience.

Required Skills:

  • Analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, product orientation, and strong collaboration.
  • Expert-level proficiency in multiple programming languages.
  • Relevant mathematical foundations including probability, statistics, modeling, optimization, logic, and discrete math.
  • Experience using unsupervised, supervised, in-context, and reinforcement learning techniques.
  • Experience with LLM observability and system performance evaluations, as well as building and optimizing information retrieval systems.
  • Nuanced understanding of the capabilities and limitations of large language models and knowledge of data processing, retention, and privacy policies.

Role Expectations:

  • Exhibit a strong desire to win as a team.
  • Be extremely curious, open-minded, and action-oriented.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to deliver AI capabilities in service of our product and users.
  • Systematically improve AI system performance metrics and help design new metrics aligned with product initiatives.
  • Explore and apply emerging techniques from AI systems research.
  • Wear multiple hats—expect to engage in infra, data pipelines, multi-modal indexing, retrieval, agents, tools, observability, evaluations, and more.

Benefits:

  • Unlimited, flexible PTO.
  • Remote-first model with optional co-working spaces or access to our SF HQ.
  • At least biannual off-sites to meet with the team.
  • Healthcare plan (Medical, Dental, Vision).
  • 401k plan with employer matching.
  • Annual wellness stipend of $1200 for wellness-related expenses, such as gym memberships and fitness equipment.

Our Interview Process: We conduct 5 interviews, followed by a paid work trial that simulates your day-to-day responsibilities.

  • Application: Our talent team reviews your application for alignment with our needs.
  • Recruiter Meeting: A 30-minute video call to discuss your motivations and fit.
  • Manager Meeting: A 45-minute video call with the hiring manager to evaluate required skills.
  • Technical Interview: A 60-minute video call with an engineering team member for a live coding assessment.
  • Cross-functional Interview: A 45-minute video call with someone outside engineering to discuss cross-functional collaboration.
  • System Design Interview: A 60-minute video call focusing on your system design skills.
  • Paid Work Trial: A full-day remote or in-person task related to your role, meeting the team, and understanding a realistic day at Poggio.
