This role will work across all functional areas of our pharmaceutical research & development business, offering learning opportunities across the entire business. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data platform technologies that support all of the capabilities powering our AI, machine learning, GenAI, and data science teams’ work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a critical technical leader on our data platform team to design, develop, and operate an end-to-end data platform for pharmaceutical research & development.
- Innovate and shape platform strategy to enable new areas of science within our research & development group.
- Work with Data Product Owners to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, DBT, and Streamsets.
- Collaborate with data product owners and partners to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data platforms and solutions.
- Implement data integration, transformation, and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability, while monitoring and resolving data pipeline issues.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years in data engineering or a similar role, focusing on architecting, designing, and building scalable data platforms using cloud services.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, DBT, Streamsets, along with AWS, Azure, GCP, and enterprise-grade data solutions.
- Experience in batch and streaming processing using Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and Apache Airflow.
- Authority in Data Modeling, Data Migration, Data Cleansing, and ETL Processes with hands-on experience in cloud data warehouses (AWS Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Proficiency in Python and SQL programming, as well as in test automation and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with DataOps development and automation, alongside a strong understanding of DevOps principles and tools.
- Preferred:
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence solution development.
- Experience in healthcare or a regulated industry.
Other:
- Less than 10% domestic or international travel.
- Compensation: The anticipated base pay range for this position is $104,000 to $166,750 with performance-based bonuses.
