We are a forward-thinking company transitioning to the cloud to enhance our analytics capabilities. We are seeking a skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our team. Our Data Team is instrumental in driving success through data-based decisions. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, ensuring seamless feedback and follow-up. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data systems, ensuring quality and access for analysis and operations. As the Lead Data Engineer, you will oversee the modernization of the company’s architecture and work with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decisions.

Critical Job Functions

  • Data Infrastructure Development: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and architectures.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor data engineers, fostering collaboration and improvement.
  • Data Integration: Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and quality from various sources.
  • Data Governance: Enforce data security, compliance, and privacy best practices.
  • Data Quality: Conduct investigations to identify and resolve data issues.
  • Collaboration: Work with data engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and improve data system performance.
  • Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and technologies.

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in similar roles.
  • Expertise in SQL, SSAS, and SSIS with proficiency in Power BI or similar tools (e.g., Qlik, Tableau).
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) along with ETL tools and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud is preferred.
  • Industry certifications, such as Azure Data Engineer Associate, are a plus.
  • Strong drive and dedication with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proactive approach to guiding business decisions and incredible attention to detail.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Sedentary physical activity involving non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, reach/handle items, work with fingers, and communicate via phone or in-person.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual Salary: $120,000 - $130,000
  • Benefits include PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, and 401k.
