AmpliFI Loyalty Solutions provides fully outsourced, customized credit and debit card loyalty programs exclusively for banks and credit unions nationwide. We are seeking an Intermediate Data Engineer (Level 2), with a preference for local candidates on a hybrid schedule. However, highly qualified remote candidates outside the area will also be considered.
Summary
As an Intermediate Data Engineer, you will work with data warehousing technical components, infrastructure, and their integration. You will analyze large amounts of data, discover and solve real-world problems, and present insights. You will be responsible for high-level design and architecture, and you will foster relationships with internal business partners and development team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain a modular code base to address real-world problems.
- Conduct regular peer code reviews to ensure code quality and compliance.
- Work in cross-disciplinary teams to understand client needs and ingest rich data sources.
- Research, experiment, and utilize leading Big Data technologies in AWS.
- Help drive innovation processes and develop extendable platforms for ampliFI's products.
- Participate in developing and presenting thought leadership and assist in optimizing ampliFI’s data source technology stack.
Education and Experience:
- 3+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering with big data methodologies using various programming languages and technologies.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience with source code management systems like GIT.
- Expert competency in Python, Pandas, Spark, and Java.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field (a Master's degree is a plus).

- Strong proficiency in complex design and analysis technologies and solutions.
- Skilled at rapidly ingesting, transforming, engineering, and visualizing data for both ad hoc and product-level analytics solutions.
- Experience with large-scale AWS big data methods such as EC2, S3, EMR, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Athena, AWS-Glue, and Redshift.
- Knowledge of programming methodologies (Terraform, version control, testing, QA) and agile development practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity required to code using software and a laptop computer.
