We are searching for a Founding Data Scientist to join our innovative team in San Francisco, CA. This role aims to assist fast-growing businesses with marketing measurement, forecasting, and experimentation. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience and will play a crucial role in shaping our data science practices and improving customer outcomes.

We are building a product to help marketers optimize their spending across various channels and programs. Companies often waste millions on ineffective campaigns while neglecting long-term initiatives with limited measurement capabilities. Our mission is to create a system of record that enables teams to understand, forecast the impact of their marketing, and experiment with new ideas. With more than 300k mid-market businesses globally spending approximately $1T on marketing annually, the opportunity for impact is substantial. Founded in 2023, we have rapidly gained traction with 13 recurring customers and several pilots in progress, demonstrating impressive revenue growth.

Your team
Your team consists of the founders, Pranav and Pete, along with three engineers (Hourann, Daniel, and Jason). We value bottom-up innovation and look forward to your contributions.

Your role

  • Data Science:
    • Own significant customer data analysis and be responsible for customer deliverables.
    • Develop expertise in marketing mix modeling and causal inference analysis over time.
    • Define the quality standards for data science at Paramark.
    • Lead discussions on improving data science workflows and contribute to product roadmap discussions.
    • Coach software engineers and data scientists on data analysis best practices.
    • Assist in hiring and scaling the data science team as the company grows.
  • Helping Customers:
    • Build domain knowledge around marketing to better understand customer needs.
    • Collaborate with the customer success team to present insights and recommendations to clients.
  • Building Software:
    • Contribute code to our internal admin application and enhance productivity through automation.
    • Maintain software quality for critical internal applications.

Your experience and skills

  • 8+ years of experience as a data scientist with technical expertise in various modeling techniques.
  • Adept at customer engagement and developing empathy for their challenges.
  • Ability to automate data science workflows and deliver high-quality software.
  • Strong prioritization skills in complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Experience in mentoring and supporting the growth of other data scientists.

Compensation
Base salary ranges by level:
L4: $179k-$199k
L5: $197k-$237k
