Role description:
Employ a combination of the following skill areas:
- Foundations: Mathematical, Computational, Statistical
- Data Processing: Data management and curation, data description and visualization, workflow, and reproducibility
- Modeling, Inference, and Prediction: Data modeling and assessment, domain-specific considerations
Key responsibilities include:
- Devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets.
- Make and communicate principled conclusions from data using mathematics, statistics, computer science, and application-specific knowledge.
- Through analytic modeling and statistical analysis, develop and implement methods for characterizing and assessing large datasets while accounting for unique data features and limitations.
- Translate mission needs and analytic questions into technical requirements.
- Assist others in deriving appropriate conclusions from data analysis.
- Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Make informed recommendations regarding competing technical solutions while maintaining awareness of NSA/CSS capabilities and limitations.
Required Skills:
- Active Top Secret SCI with Poly.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience in fields such as Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Operations Research, or Computer Science.
- Degrees in related fields (Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Physical Sciences) may be considered if they include substantial coursework in advanced Mathematics and/or Computer Science.
- Relevant experience must include one or more of the following: designing/implementing machine learning algorithms, programming (proficiency in at least one high-level language, e.g., Python), statistical analysis, data management, data mining, data modeling, and artificial intelligence.
Preferred Skills:
- A broader range of degrees will be considered if accompanied by a Certificate in Data Science from an accredited college/university.
