We are currently seeking a Data Scientist II to support the United States Special Operations Command Preservation of the Force and Family (USSOCOM POTFF) program at Hurlburt Field, FL. This role focuses on identifying and implementing innovative solutions that enhance the well-being of Special Operations Forces (SOF) warriors and their families. This position requires a Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship. The successful candidate should either reside in the local area or be willing to relocate within 15 days of the start date.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analytics including:
    • Basic data manipulation and mining
    • Exploratory, predictive, and statistical analysis
    • Correlation of data into graphical, written, visual, and verbal narrative products for informed decisions
  • Enter and analyze data within government systems
  • Maintain dashboards to automate data analysis and present trends related to POTFF programs
  • Assist POTFF staff with survey design, analysis, and reporting
  • Consult with supported units to identify data capturing opportunities for POTFF initiatives
  • Collaborate with POTFF program staff and the Government’s POTFF biostatistician
  • Utilize statistics/modeling tools and data visualization techniques to produce accessible reports and presentations

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Expertise in statistical software applications (SPSS, SAS, Python, R)
  • Minimum of 3 years of research experience in academic, social services, government, healthcare, or laboratory settings
  • Fluency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a diverse range of contacts
  • Demonstrated history of scientific publications and advanced proficiency in research settings

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or documented experience in Human Performance
  • Experience in Special Operations, athletics/sports, or military environments
  • Familiarity with IT systems and no-code databases

Education:

  • Master’s degree in quantitative science, social science, or a related discipline required
