We are currently seeking an accomplished Credit and Fraud Risk Data Scientist to join our growing lending team at Remitly. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the credit and fraud risk modeling capabilities, performing statistical analytics, designing experiments, enhancing credit underwriting and fraud mitigation strategies, and monitoring the performance of existing models.

You Will:
- Develop credit and fraud risk models using advanced machine learning, statistical, and quantitative methodologies.
- Utilize programming skills in Python to develop, implement, test, and maintain credit and fraud risk models, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Design, conduct, and analyze appropriate test types (e.g. A/B/n, multi-variate, population) that drive lending strategic choices and models.
- Contribute to assessing the impact of lending strategies and the development of Customer Lifetime Value models with advanced techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance existing credit underwriting and fraud mitigation strategies.
- Conduct in-depth statistical analyses and provide insights into market risk factors, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantitative analytics, credit, and fraud risk modeling.
You Have:
- Masters in Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science preferred.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages, especially SQL and Python.
- Expertise in advanced machine learning and statistical modeling techniques, with experience in developing and implementing models.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex quantitative concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Direct experience in financial services credit and fraud risk models preferred.
Compensation Details:
- The starting base salary range for this position is typically $132,000-$165,000.
- In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders, and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
