Data Scientist

We are looking for a talented Data Scientist to join Thatch, where we are building a new way for modern businesses to offer great health benefits. Our unique approach in this legacy space is backed by top investors such as a16z, Google Ventures, and General Catalyst. You will be part of a team comprised of top performers from companies like Stripe, Rippling, Ramp, Brex, and Shopify. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in transforming the healthcare benefits landscape through data.

What you'll do:

• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and optimization opportunities.
• Apply and deploy a variety of statistical methods, including experimentation, causal inference, and machine learning to solve complex business problems.
• Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Transform and clean data from multiple sources into scalable data pipelines.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve the platform and integrate data-driven solutions.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning techniques.

Background we're looking for:

• Master's or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a data science role, preferably in a fast-paced tech environment.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages.
• Expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
• Experience with SQL and distributed frameworks like Spark.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights.

Experience we'd be particularly excited about:

• Previous work in the healthcare or fintech industries.
• Experience with data privacy and security regulations.
