Job Description
The Research Data Scientist will drive understanding, evaluation, and adoption of AI innovations relevant to ATPCO's data products and solutions. This role will provide strategic guidance, research, and domain expertise to shape ATPCO's AI strategy and airline industry engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Advise on AI models and tools for airline customers to enhance dynamic offer creation, including airfare, pricing, ancillary pricing, and product selection.
• Provide data science leadership in engagements with airlines and tech vendors to identify solvable issues using ATPCO data.
• Evaluate and design potential AI-based ATPCO products focusing on customer segmentation and responses to external shocks (e.g., political, environmental, economic).
• Guide data engineers on efficient AI tools for data ingestion and synthetic data creation.
• Collaborate with data engineering and infrastructure teams to optimize data for AI/ML applications.
• Monitor and research AI innovations, techniques, and applicable use cases within the airline industry and ATPCO’s portfolio.
• Promote AI adoption via presentations at industry events and contribution to content creation.

Requirements:

• PhD/MA in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or a closely-related field with specialization in AI/ML; or 10+ years of professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing AI/ML solutions and prototypes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Self-directed and curious, capable of exploring innovations at the forefront of AI.

Salary Range: $165,000 - $185,000
