Job Summary: The Data Scientist acts as the data analytical expert at the company, creating processes for data modeling and identifying business problems based on highly technical use of all datasets. The Data Scientist will apply advanced statistical methods and modeling to proactively explore key datasets based on business need. This role will define the statistical modeling standards and assist with educating other analyst team members on best practices, as well as identifying gaps in existing data that would lead to further meaningful data insights for business use.
Essential Duties:
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify business cases for new analytical model creation.
- Create and implement strategy for analytical modeling from data access to model deployment and verification.
- Develop and implement machine learning models to solve business problems and improve processes.
- Apply advanced statistical methods and data modeling processes to create algorithms based on business cases, translating data contextualization into business benefits.
- Verify data models with subject matter experts and monitor model efficacy in production.
- Define standard processes for modeling data and train fellow scientists and analysts on best practices.
- Research and monitor new technologies and systems for implementing advanced analytical modeling and ensure compliance with industry standards related to battery manufacturing and safety.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Basic/Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, etc.).
- Preferred: Master's degree.
- Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Experience with big datasets in acquisition, aggregation, analysis, and visualization in the semiconductor/manufacturing industry.
- Expert understanding of algorithms and advanced statistics.
- Experience with advanced analytical techniques (statistical analytics, machine learning, deep learning, etc.) and Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.).
- Programming skills in SQL, Python, R, Java, etc., and familiarity with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, scikit-learn).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience with developing data modeling processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to describe technical theories to diverse audiences.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional groups.
- Resilient, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure.
