Anrok is pioneering the way in addressing a crucial challenge for businesses worldwide: navigating the complex realm of sales tax and VAT. As tax regulations continue to change and become more intricate, companies require a dependable and automated solution to manage risk and ensure global compliance doesn’t become a drag on their revenue. Anrok’s cutting-edge platform seamlessly integrates with various billing and payment systems, streamlining sales tax monitoring, registration, reconciliation, and filing across multiple jurisdictions. We’re looking for an experienced engineer to design and build a new data products pillar, a key extension of the platform. This is an opportunity to lead a new initiative within a fast-growing company, make decisions on product direction and team building, and engage directly with existing customers that are requesting these features today.

In this role, you will:

  • Architect, build, and scale data pipelines to connect Anrok financial data into data warehouses like Snowflake and BigQuery.
  • Interface directly with customers to design primitives that meet current and future user needs, including transactional data transformation and version control to provide first-party ETL from Anrok.
  • Establish the infrastructure foundation to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Help customers ingest and reconcile data across invoicing, payment, and bank accounts by building traditional and LLM-powered reconciliation features.

What excites us:

  • Product-minded data engineer with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience in user engagement and synthesizing needs.
  • Deep understanding of data platforms and building for scale.
  • Designs that consider current/future needs, technical debt, and maintenance, with a clear articulation of trade-offs.
  • Ability to elevate team members through knowledge sharing and collaboration.

What we offer:

  • Equity upside of an early-stage startup with the product-market fit of a later-stage company.
  • Daily lunch and snacks for those in the San Francisco office.
  • 100% coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • One Medical membership, flexible sick benefits, and more.
  • Annual learning and development stipend for books, online courses, and conferences, along with a curious team to share insights.
  • Bi-annual team offsites and optional quarterly gatherings at the SF HQ office.
  • Home office setup stipend to ensure optimal working conditions.
  • For those based in the San Francisco Bay Area: a hybrid model requiring 3 days a week in-office collaboration.
  • For remote employees outside the San Francisco Bay Area: full-time remote work arrangements.
