  • Support the Data Services Team with the Information Services Division.
  • Position is on-site in Oklahoma City, OK.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer III to join our innovative data services team. In this role, you will build and maintain robust data pipelines that enable advanced analytics initiatives and support data-driven decision-making. You will leverage your strong foundation in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing to manage complex data engineering projects while collaborating with stakeholders at various levels.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing scalable data architectures to ensure reliable ingestion and processing of large datasets.
  • Optimizing data storage and retrieval for performance and efficiency.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of data platforms and tools that facilitate efficient data analysis and integration.
  • Enhancing our team's capabilities in managing our data ecosystem.
  • Supporting the Department of Transportation through your work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop data pipelines to replicate and aggregate data in a data warehouse.
  • Model data, and ensure data acquisition and access analysis and design.
  • Design and implement archive, recovery, and load strategies.
  • Analyze client or internal operations to determine database structural requirements.
  • Coordinate new data development and ensure consistency with the existing warehouse structure.
  • Review business requests for data and assess current systems.
  • Research new data sources for better data feeds and assist in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Coordinate testing, monitoring, and alerting to ensure data quality.
  • Prepare users by conducting training and administer Cloud platform(s).
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce data platform best practices.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position works in a comfortable office setting for most of the workday, with a usually mild noise level. Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in an information technology field.
  • 2-year degree or certification in computer science, management information systems, data management, or a related field.

Preference Will Be Given To Candidates Who Possess:

  • Knowledge of data storage and transformation systems and techniques.
  • Experience developing software and data pipelines on cloud computing platforms.
  • Understanding of cloud data warehouses and experience analyzing business requirements.
  • Ability to design solutions to business problems and develop alerts for data pipelines.
  • Experience delivering end-to-end solutions independently and training others on data-engineering related skills or topics.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and project management systems.
