Data Engineer-Hybrid

Embrace Pet Insurance is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Data Engineer to drive the evolution of our Data and Analytics capabilities. As a key contributor, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a cutting-edge foundation for Data Analytics, leveraging modern Microsoft Azure Data technologies. We are looking for an individual who possesses a unique blend of creativity, independence, and strong collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a robust framework for Data Analytics; collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable data solutions.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines, ensuring data integrity and quality while driving innovation by incorporating industry trends and best practices into our data engineering processes.
• Manage datasets: Develop, clean, organize, and optimize high-quality datasets for Data Science and Analytics teams.
• Design and maintain data warehouses and pipelines, leveraging structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Maintain and expand cloud and on-premise infrastructure for efficient ETL processes and collaborate closely with the Software Development team for data structure alignment.
• Implement data quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability; automate manual processes for enhanced efficiency in data management workflows.
• Create and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiencies; plan for data and ETL migrations to ensure smooth transitions.
• Mentor team members, share industry best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning within the data and analytics team.

Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience with advanced knowledge in Data Architecture & Engineering.
• 1+ year experience with Databricks, Azure Cloud Data Services (Data Factory, Key Vault, Data Lake, etc.), Azure DevOps, and SSIS.
• Advanced knowledge of MS SQL Server, ANSI SQL, and T-SQL. Interested in keeping the team updated on major developments in modern Data Architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the insurance industry, with familiarity in Python and ETL Platforms (Azure Data Factory, SSIS).
• Experience with Database Administration (SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL) and GA4 data.
• Understanding of the GIT source control system and experience with BI systems such as Power BI.
• Good understanding of Financial & Compliance Reporting and experience creating datasets for Data Science and AI/ML solutions.
