We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer III to provide support for our data warehouse environment and analytics tools, empowering our business leaders with access to vital business intelligence data for strategic growth. This role involves assisting in setting the overall development roadmap and standards for the Bank, as well as evaluating and architecting data solutions utilizing industry best practices. You will work on implementing a combination of on-premise and cloud strategies for the future of data processing at the bank.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain optimal data pipelines, architectures, and data sets for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources using SQL and integration technologies.
  • Leverage existing data infrastructure for data management tasks including data housekeeping, cleansing, normalization, and implementation of data model changes.
  • Utilize appropriate data platform structures to organize and store data effectively, and work with big data technologies in on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Implement data lifecycle management strategies, governance around visualization, and BI platforms like Power BI, both on-premises and cloud-based.
  • Establish models and standards for data collection, storage, integration, and usage within data systems, delivering new or enhanced applications as needed.
  • Operate as part of a team, assisting in evaluating and architecting use of data solutions while complying with applicable laws and bank policies.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience; preferred 7+ years with ETL tools (SSIS) in a Data Warehouse environment, involving data integration/ETL of large and complex datasets.
  • Expertise in performance tuning and scaling Microsoft SQL databases, data modeling, and understanding various data structures with respect to their use cases.
  • Experience with visualization tools (Power BI, SSRS, Crystal reports), languages (C#, Python), and cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Synapse, Snowflake).
  • Technical proficiency with relational databases: T-SQL, SQL, and stored procedures.

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.

Skills:

  • Creative problem-solving with an ability to design user-friendly, low-maintenance software solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, coupled with technical expertise and analytical thinking.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment with skillful diplomacy and influence.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform primarily sedentary work and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs, with capability to climb or descend stairs in an emergency.
  • Routine computer work for an average of 6-8 hours daily, with the potential for extended hours or travel as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Regular in-office attendance is required.
