We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SQL querying, Power BI, ETL processes, data and query optimization, and database management. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions to help our organization make data-driven decisions.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop and Maintain BI Solutions: Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions using Power BI.
- SQL Querying: Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various databases, support modifications per end user requests, and communicate updates to affected parties.
- Data and Query Optimization: Optimize data models and queries for performance and efficiency, and identify performance bottlenecks for effective resolution.
- Database Management: Manage and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity and security while collaborating with shared services teams on space, performance, and security administration.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights to drive business decisions, maintaining a solid understanding of the data elements across the organization.
- Reporting: Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present data effectively, utilizing various formats to communicate insights.
- Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Documentation: Document BI solutions, processes, and best practices while maintaining a central code repository and following the standard SDLC for change management.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; commensurate related experience will also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in business intelligence development.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Power BI, including report creation, data modeling, and DAX.
- Strong SQL querying and ETL skills, with experience in data and query optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView is a plus).
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, API utilization, and database design.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R; experience in AI and/or GenAI is desired.
- Skills: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, excellent communication, accountability, and collaboration abilities, with an attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without Company sponsorship.
