Job Summary: Data Engineers at INTRUST work closely with business users and the Data Analytics team to transform data into critical information and knowledge for sound business decisions. This includes ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility. Responsibilities encompass the full life cycle development, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of databases, tables, and views within the analytics environment. Teamwork is promoted within the department and across the bank, supporting community relations while maintaining strict standards of confidentiality aligned with INTRUST’s character qualities.

Essential Functions: To succeed in this role, candidates are expected to:

  • Design and implement reporting and analytical solutions, including table structures and data processes from various sources
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and develop technical specifications, ensuring clear communication of these requirements
  • Create and maintain data models, schemas, and data warehouses to support analytics and reporting needs
  • Apply consistent strategies for data acquisition, movement, quality checks, and archiving, ensuring data integrity and reliability
  • Participate in code reviews, implement best practices for version control and documentation, and resolve production issues promptly
  • Design and create BusinessObjects semantic layers based on requirement analysis and work collaboratively with the team

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field required
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, experience with relational databases, and data warehousing
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • 3+ years of business intelligence tools experience (SSIS, MS SQL, SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau, MLOps tools) preferred

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated SQL coding/querying skills in SQL Server
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proven initiative both independently and as a team member
  • Experience in performing root cause analysis, supporting various teams in a dynamic environment
  • Strong project management and organizational skills

Physical Demands: Extended periods may be spent viewing a personal computer, with occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. These physical demands can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
