Company Credit Genie’s mission is to help users take control of their finances, by offering cash advances between paydays, and by providing financial insights into spending habits. Having empowered over 600,000 customers to budget wisely, evade overdraft fees, and minimize credit card payments, we're on an ambitious journey. Our vision is rooted in a world where financial access is universal, and personal financial goals are within reach. This position can be based out of the Philadelphia area (our HQ is in Plymouth Meeting, PA), or the NYC area. We follow a hybrid work model of 3 days/week in office.

Overview: As a Data Engineer, you will develop robust data solutions that support our business needs. Your primary responsibility is to build and manage a scalable data pipeline that aligns with the organization’s long-term vision. You’ll design efficient data storage structures, data models, standards, and optimize data retrieval for reporting, analytics, and data science purposes. Our product (Mobile App) is currently built using React Native, Typescript, Micro Services, GQL, and hosted on AWS. We utilize AWS Services such as Amplify, Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis, and Cognito, with Snowflake as our primary data warehouse.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and maintain a scalable data pipeline to extract, load, and transform data from multiple sources.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data models support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Establish guidelines, controls, and processes to facilitate the availability of data for developing scalable data-driven solutions.
  • Enforce data ingestion, integration, and access patterns to support real-time and batch-based consumer data needs.
  • Write complex Python and SQL queries to manage data efficiently and conduct performance optimization of AWS feature sets and Snowflake databases.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 3 - 5 years of Data Engineering experience.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering results.
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation and data processing.
  • Strong experience in schema design, ETL/ELT, and performance tuning within a Cloud Data Service environment.
  • Ability to manage projects effectively, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a self-directed, innovative approach and a bias towards action.

Nice to Have:

  • Certification in Snowflake or AWS.
  • Proven expertise in managing data platforms for large-scale data and diverse data architectures (e.g., warehouses, lakehouses).
  • Knowledge of data security (including PHI and PII) and data privacy regulations (CCPA and GDPR).
  • Exposure to analytical techniques using ML and/or AI to assist data scientists and analysts in deriving insights from data.

Benefits & Perks:

  • Premium Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance plans with 100% coverage of insurance premiums for you and your dependents.
  • Company-provided Basic Life and Short-Term and Long-Term Disability plans.
  • 401K program with company match and unlimited PTO along with generous company holidays.
  • Company laptop and home-office stipend, and stock options.

The base pay for this role will be between $140,000 and $190,000, with potential eligibility for other forms of compensation and benefits, including a discretionary bonus. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be determined based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
