Job Summary: The Software Engineer Advisor provides expert content/professional leadership on complex Engineering assignments/projects. You will design and develop a consolidated, conformed enterprise data warehouse and data lake that store all critical data across Customer, Provider, Claims, Client, and Benefits data. Your responsibilities include implementing methods, processes, tools, and analyses to sift through large amounts of data stored in a data warehouse or data mart to uncover relationships and patterns, and participating in the delivery of the definitive enterprise information environment that enables strategic decision-making capabilities via analytics and reporting. This position requires considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in planning and executing initiatives, while advising functional leaders with deep professional knowledge. You will also be recognized internally as a subject matter expert.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and hands-on development of robust solutions addressing scale, security, reliability, performance, operational excellence, and cost.
  • Support product delivery partners in the successful build, test, and release of solutions.
  • Collaborate with distributed requirements and technical stakeholders for shared design and development.
  • Engage in the full software lifecycle: design, development, testing, and support for technical delivery.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies, breaking down features into user stories and reviewing requirements to identify ambiguities.
  • Communicate effectively for your audience and collaborate across teams to create best practices while identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Guide and mentor team members on all aspects of software engineering, driving innovation within the organization.
  • Present on software technologies, frameworks, and patterns to various stakeholders.

Skills:

  • AWS Services: S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway.
  • Complex ETL job development using PySpark; Programming experience in Python & Node.js.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and experience with various database engines: MSSQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB.
  • Developing and integrating RESTful web services, familiarity with build and deployment tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins).
  • In-depth Terraform knowledge; experience with EKS and ECS is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, quick learner, and excellent communication skills.
  • Automation-driven mindset to enhance maintainability and testability while documenting designs and solutions for clarity.

Certifications (desired): AWS Certified Developer Associate, AWS Certified Data Engineer Associate, Databricks Spark certification.

Education:

  • College or University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of work experience in software engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in AWS.
  • Strong desire to learn.

Additional Requirements: If you will be working from home, you must have a cable broadband or fiber optic internet connection with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
